The Sybarite Magazine
Art Direction, Magazine Design & Production Management (2022-2024)
For over two years I have been Art Director and Designer of this quarterly high-end international luxury experiences and lifestyle publication. With an emphasis on clean, minimal, elegant and timeless design, the idea is let the stunning photography have its moment, as features are often about dream luxury travel destinations with breathtaking vistas. I am also overseeing and editing the fashion aspects of the magazine including a more fun and creative fashion forecast collage that’s a regular feature in each issue.
Police Magazine
Art Direction, Magazine Design & Production Management (ongoing since 2022)
Working with the marketing team at the Police Federation for England and Wales, I have been art directing and managing the production of their bi-monthly publication. This is a fantastic client to have and is certainly a different type of work to have in my portfolio. This is a fairly clean and streamlined aesthetic, and as the content is often of a serious nature, I wanted to soften and warm the design giving it a slightly more elegant look, from how the previous designer had approached it, where the magazine was a bit dated and clunky in places. The Head of Communications was thrilled with my work and commented that he was “in awe” of my design work, and said it was the best the magazine had looked in the whole time he’d worked for the Police Federation, which was great to hear.
Silver Magazine
Branding, Art Direction, Magazine Design & Production Management (2021)
I was again hired by Title Media, this time to Art Direct their own magazine. This was a 100 page high-end produciton set to be a quartlery, aimed at the 50-plus reader, with raw topics, honest conversation and exciting fashion, with a much edgier aesthetic than has previously been adopted by publications for that age group. Having produced and run Pretty Litter Magazine myself, an edgy but high-end coffee table arts and lifestyle publication, this was a perfect fit for both myself and for Title. What we acheieved was something extremely exciting, to look at and to read, and the feedback we’ve had from readers has been fantastic. Before printing the first issue I had also gave a refresh to the logo and overall branding of Silver, so that was implemented across the various online platforms and social channels too.
Eden River Trust Magazine
Branding & Brochure Design (2021)
I was hired to design the special annual printed brochure for Eden Rivers Trust. Working closely with the editoriual team at Title Media we created a beautiful 56 page magazine with silver foil on the covert to mark the special 25th anniversary of the trust.
Lewis Crathern Kitesurfer
Brochure Design & Production Management (2021)
I’ve worked with Lewis a few times before, in various different publications, and he hired me to design and produce a brochure for his schools event taking place at Armada Festival and in schools he visits across the country, where he gives talks on sustainability and wind energy.

For the 2020 event I created another really exciting design for the festival, with design event, print, web and social. Sadly, due to the pandemic, and along with every other event pretty much worldwide, Armada Festival had to be postponed, but luckily it was able to take place the following year.
Kitesurfing Armada Festival 2019

One of my favourite clients to work with, MD of Armada Events, Dan Charlish is responsible for putting on this huge annual international kitesurfing and music festival on Hayling Island. I have worked with Dan on several of his largescale projects over the years and this is one that I always look forward to working on. Here I manage all of the creative, from everything you see online to the lead up to the event, such as social media and website graphics and campaigns, to everything you see at the live events, including the overall look and branding of each event, large format festival signage, the Kitesurfing Armada beach flags and the event brochures, which always include intricately illustrated festival and beach maps.

A new sister event to the Kitesurfing Armada on Hayling Island, I recently worked with the directors on branding and setting up the design and marketing for this exciting new beach festival coming Skegness in July 2019.

I manage the design for this wonderful national youth charity that helps inner-city young people find their passion in life through vocational opportunities in snow sports. Work includes everything from re-branding Snow Camp’s sub brands, promotional materials, annual reports, brochures, event design, company stationery and info packs.

This busy publishing company in West Sussex produce several B2B publications and events in the horticulture industry, and I was hired to lead the design and re-brands of three of their publications and their supplements, as well as their largest soon-to-be biannual event, FUTURESCAPE, which is the UK’s leading landscaping exhibiton.
Sussex Living Magazine
Art Director & Assistant Editor (2017)
At the time, this monthly magazine had a circulation of 17,000 and was offered at over 160 distribution points across Mid Sussex. I was responsible for creating high impact features, as well as bespoke ad campaigns, for the magazine’s vast client base. I was also part of the company’s in-house design agency where design, branding and copywriting are offered as a service.
Cafe Plenty Brighton
Design, Marketing & Brand Director (2016-2017)
I was hired to direct the design, branding and marketing for this new cafe group opening in Brighton. Projects included creating all of the brand materials from logo sets, strap lines and brand book, to establishing the brand values, fine-tuning the company ethos and writing all of the brand literature. I art directed and shot photo shoots, created press packs, created interviews with the directors, liaised with press, and implemented the marketing strategies. I also designed and managed the social media sites, created the launch strategy and materials, including managing the launch party, and its PR and design. I am currently designing the website and will continue to offer Cafe Plenty any design, brand and marketing support for the foreseeable future.

For four months in the lead up to its launch period I was hired to lead the design, branding and marketing for this new cafe group opening in Brighton.
